The Rights Of The United States - 851 Words

September 17, 1787, our founding fathers established the United States of America constitution, made up of twenty-seven amendments, at the constitutional convention. Fourteen years later, two-thirds majority of the state ratification, necessary to make it legal, ratified the Bill of Rights. As part of the constitution, we have individual rights. These rights include life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. With this, people from all around the world who come into the U.S, have the same rights as the citizens of the U.S. The early 1900s was a period of mass immigration for the United States. At the turn of the twentieth century religious preferences and political persecution were major reasons behind immigration. Many people came to†¦show more content†¦Additionally to common good, the United States benefits from legal immigrants by their hospitality. They’re always grateful for the possessions they acquire. My belief is that if immigrants are happy by working hard and making a living, then both of these positions make a valid argument for why authorized, legal immigrants should be allowed. Those who agree and want to advocate their position should start a petition and fight because many people of America have relatives who may have been in these types of situations. Similarly, our country strives on the presence of immigrants. With the adaptation to the amount of immigrants, America has strongly grown socially, economically, and culturally by allowing these immigrants to become citizens. Not only does the first amendment connect to the issue, but it also backs up the reason why we should be able to accept Mexicans, Africans, Europeans, and any other race, into the United States. The first amendment prohibits the making of laws of an establishment of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, and interfering with the right to peaceably assemble. To peaceably assemble, is an individual right which means anyone can pursue and defend their ideas, also pertaining to immigrants who intend to pursue and defend their rights to start a life in America.
